Things To Do

St. Augustine has a way of bringing out the history lover in all of us. When you slow down a little bit and take in the sites you are visiting, you will be transported back in time. Read and learn about how our first European permanent settlement was established and the battles that ensued. Depending on how much time you have, you may have to pick and choose what you would like to visit.

  • Castillo de San Marcos- This is a must visit site in St. Augustine. It’s the oldest masonry fort in the United States and was used to protect the city. It was attacked several times, but never taken by force.

St. Augustine is a beautiful, historic city that has so much to offer, because of that, I have focused on the historic district because I think it is the core of the city. Most sites and restaurants are within walking distance or easily accessible on the Old Town Trolley. In addition to the historic district, there are beautiful beaches in the area that are a great way to relax and get away from the crowds.

Lastly, you need to decide which attractions you want to visit. Maybe you want to experience all of them? Either way, I hope you plan a trip and enjoy the history of America’s first city.
